Basketball Recap: Carolina Day Comes Up Short

Carolina Day lost against Asheville Christian Academy back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Carolina Day Wildcats lost 82-61 to the Asheville Christian Academy Lions. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Lions are ranked 30th).

Despite the loss, Carolina Day still got an impressive performance from Zeke Garris, who went 9 of 14 en route to 28 points along with seven assists and seven boards. Aiden McAfee was another key player, going 6 for 9 on his way to 16 points.

Carolina Day has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Asheville Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.

Carolina Day has already played their next contest, a 71-52 defeat against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee on the 16th. As for Asheville Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-34 victory against New Garden Friends on the 16th.
