Langley entered their tilt with Riverside on Monday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Ram. The Saxons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Ram, too.

Jaina Fitzpatrick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Langley's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mina Britt, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Elena Calsyn was another, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Langley's record is now 16-5. As for Riverside, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-6.

Langley and Riverside should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Saxons (ranked 20th) will meet Washington-Liberty (ranked 204th) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Riverside will challenge Potomac Falls at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (63 vs. 259).
