Pinkerton is 8-1 against Merrimack since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Astros are taking a road trip to take on the Tomahawks at 4:00 a.m. Pinkerton will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
On Monday, Pinkerton got the win against Timberlane by a conclusive 8-1. The result was nothing new for the Astros, who have now won three contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Leo Boucher made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base was his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Michael Cloffi, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
Pinkerton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Merrimack and Timberlane finished up on equal footing with a 4-4 tie on Tuesday.
Pinkerton pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. Merrimack's tie makes their record 1-5-1 this season.
Merrimack's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Pinkerton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .368. It's a different story for Merrimack, though, as they've only averaged .186. Will they be able to contain Pinkerton's hitters?
Pinkerton skirted past Merrimack 7-5 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Astros have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tomahawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
