Soccer Game Preview: Woodward-Granger vs. Underwood

The Woodward-Granger Hawks will face off against the Underwood Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Woodward-Granger is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Iowa's top teams: Roosevelt, who was ranked 19th at the time (Woodward-Granger was ranked 13th). The Hawks and the Roughriders finished up their contest with a 2-2 draw on Monday. Woodward-Granger's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Underwood played to a draw too, finishing 0-0 against Treynor.

With that draw, Woodward-Granger's record moves to 3-0-2. As for Underwood, they moved theirs to 2-1-2.

Woodward-Granger came out on top in a nail-biter against Underwood when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
