Football Recap: West Mecklenburg Comes Up Short + How To Watch

West Mecklenburg played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Statesville Greyhounds, falling 26-6. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

A big part of Statesville's victory came down to the chemistry between Jaikoda Harrington and his top target Paul Cauthen. Harrington threw for 171 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes while Cauthen picked up 128 receiving yards and three TDs. Cauthen also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making seven total tackles and defending one pass.

West Mecklenburg's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Statesville, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, West Mecklenburg will square off against Olympic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Statesville, they will face off against Hopewell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
