East Grand Rapids took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Catholic Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pioneers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Cougars 2-1.

East Grand Rapids was led to victory by Rylee Stanley-Eldred and Mackenzee Stanley-Eldred. Rylee had eight digs and three aces, while Mackenzee had 11 digs. That's the most aces Rylee has posted since back in September.

East Grand Rapids' record is now 28-10. As for Catholic Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 31-12-1.
