Softball Recap: Pelham's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Pelham came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the John Carroll Catholic Cavaliers by a score of 6-2. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Taylor Howard was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Emery Plunkett was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Pelham hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in six consecutive games.

Pelham's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-12. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for John Carroll Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.
