Basketball Recap: St. Michaels Comes Up Short

St. Michaels lost against Mardela back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The St. Michaels Saints fell to the Mardela Warriors 50-45. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jo'Ziah Sherwood was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 24 points and 22 boards for Mardela. Sherwood also posted seven blocks, which is notable because Mardela is 12-2 when he posts at least three blocks, but 2-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Darion Collins, who posted 14 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.

St. Michaels' loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Mardela, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Coming up, St. Michaels will head out to take on Queen Anne's County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mardela, they will welcome Bennett at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
