Live Oak faced Denham Springs in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Live Oak beat Denham Springs by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-1. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on six straight.

Live Oak got a great performance from Sawyer Pruitt as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Pruitt has posted since back in February.

On the hitting side, Jace Griffin and Dekohta Jones did most of the damage at the plate: Griffin scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Jones went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those three hits gave Griffin a new career-high. Mac Beadle was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Live Oak pushed their record up to 19-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Denham Springs, their loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-4-1.

Live Oak will have a chance to go back-to-back against Denham Springs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
