Basketball Preview: Moapa Valley Pirates vs. Mater Academy East Las Vegas Knights
The Moapa Valley Pirates will be playing at home against the Mater Academy East Las Vegas Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Moapa Valley will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Moapa Valley put the finishing touches on their 17th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They put the hurt on Virgin Valley with a sharp 49-29 victory.
Haylie Western was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Cox, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Mater Academy East Las Vegas ended up a good deal behind the Bulldogs on Tuesday and lost 47-30.
Moapa Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.
Everything came up roses for Moapa Valley against the Knights in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 68-41 win. Does Moapa Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
