Volleyball Recap: Rancho Alamitos Comes Up Short

Rancho Alamitos lost against Western back in March of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Vaqueros fell 3-1 to the Pioneers.

Rancho Alamitos came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 21-25, 28-26, 25-22.

Nathaniel Dumangas was a one-man wrecking crew For Western. as he had 23 assists and 15 digs. Those 15 digs gave Dumangas a new career-high.

Rancho Alamitos' defeat dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Western, their win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rancho Alamitos will venture away from home to face off against Santa Ana Valley at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Western, they will square off against Los Amigos at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
