Volleyball Game Preview: Plainview Pirates vs. Lutheran-Northeast Eagles

The Plainview Pirates will square off against the Lutheran-Northeast Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Plainview will be strutting in after a win while Lutheran-Northeast will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Plainview beat Randolph 2-0. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Lutheran-Northeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Humphrey-Lindsay. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 25-18 in the first set.

Lutheran-Northeast started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-9.

Plainview's win bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Lutheran-Northeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-19.

Plainview suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Lutheran-Northeast when the teams last played last Tuesday. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
