Basketball Recap: Community Christian Takes a Loss

If Community Christian was riding high fresh off their 74-47 takedown of Killian Hill Christian back in December of 2024, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Community Christian Knights were dealt a 74-41 defeat at the hands of the Young Americans Christian Eagles on Monday. The game marked the Knights' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Young Americans Christian found their leader in freshman Gabe Cambell, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 14 points and six assists. Cambell has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Mason Sigur, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.

Community Christian now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Young Americans Christian, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Community Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against New Creation Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Young Americans Christian, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Covington Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Young Americans Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
