Football Recap: Sheridan Blackhawks vs. South Putnam Eagles
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sheridan can now relate to. They lost 26-6 to the South Putnam Eagles on Friday. The Blackhawks lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 60-19 score last time.
Brock Hagan threw for 32 yards on three of nine attempts. Brody Heck was his top target, picking up 36 receiving yards. On the ground, Alex Cravens rushed for 75 yards and one TD.
Leading South Putnam to victory were Ty Benton and Drew Cline. Benton rushed for 139 yards and one touchdown, while Cline rushed for 40 yards and a pair of scores. Benton's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 126 rushing yards.
