Baseball Game Preview: Ramsey Rams vs. Hackensack Comets

The Ramsey Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Hackensack Comets at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Ramsey is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since April 17, 2024 on Monday. They lost 13-3 to Mahwah.

Alex DeSimone was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Sailer, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Hackensack and Northern Highlands, and Northern Highlands kept the tradition alive. The Comets came up short against the Highlanders on Monday, falling 17-5.

Thomas Ingallinera made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Mike Salcedo, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Ramsey's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6. As for Hackensack, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Hackensack's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ramsey hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330.
