The Marion Swamp Foxes will head out to  challenge the Andrews Yellowjackets  at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Marion is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Edisto  a   21-0 shutout. The  win was some much needed relief for the Swamp Foxes as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
 Kynnedi Jenkins was a  major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out eight batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts any time she's  pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in April of 2024.

 In other batting news,  Maliyah Williams was  incredible,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with four  runs, five  RBI,  and one  triple. Those  four  runs gave  her a new career-high.  Nevaeh Shaw also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
 Marion  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  strikeout total in three consecutive  games.
Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Andrews, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Thursday. They were the clear victors by  a  16-1 margin over Manning on Tuesday. Considering the Yellowjackets' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
 The team  relied heavily on  Sarah Jennings, who  went 3-for-4 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of  Karaline Gainey, who  went 1-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 Andrews' record is now 12-5. As for Marion, they now  have a winning record of 8-7.
Friday's   matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Marion hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .379. However, it's not like Andrews struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .389. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Everything went Marion's way against Andrews in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024, as Marion made off with  a  12-5 victory. Will the Swamp Foxes repeat their success,  or do  the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
