Hampton waltzed into their game on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Ambridge Bridgers a 15-0 shutout. The Talbots' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Cassie Vidic made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Alena Zottola and Eden Lawrence did most of the damage at the plate: Zottola went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one double, and one RBI, while Lawrence went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Zottola a new career-high. Jenna Backus was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Hampton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matches.

Hampton's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Ambridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Hampton will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Western Beaver at 5:00 p.m. As for Ambridge, they will head out to square off against Beaver at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
