Football Game Preview: Stanton Buffaloes vs. Wall Hawks

The Stanton Buffaloes will challenge the Wall Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Stanton has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Wall will arrive with nine straight victories.

Stanton's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Coahoma on Friday. They were dealt a 42-0 defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, while Wall put up plenty of points last Friday, the same can't be said for Grape Creek. The Hawks blew past the Eagles 48-0. Considering the Hawks have won eight games by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Stanton better keep an eye on Landon York. He was instrumental in Wall's win, throwing for 246 yards and seven TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave York a new career-high in passer rating (161.9). Jager Thompson helped York out on the ground, picking up 72 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Stanton's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Wall, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.

Stanton was dealt a bruising 57-7 defeat at the hands of Wall when the teams last played back in November of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Buffaloes were down 43-0.
