Basketball Game Preview: Nordhoff Rangers vs. Villanova Prep Wildcats

Nordhoff is on a six-game streak of home losses also dating back to last season, Villanova Prep a ten-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Nordhoff Rangers will host the Villanova Prep Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Wednesday, Nordhoff ended up a good deal behind Channel Islands and lost 69-54. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1129th, while the Raiders are ranked 386th).

Meanwhile, Villanova Prep was beaten by Thacher 82-23 on Thursday.

Nordhoff's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Villanova Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Nordhoff was able to grind out a solid win over Villanova Prep in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 50-40. Will Nordhoff repeat their success, or does Villanova Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
