Basketball Recap: Corbett's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was a good run, but Corbett unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pleasant Hill Billies. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Billies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Corbett's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Pleasant Hill, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Corbett will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Riverdale at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Corbett has won 12 straight at home dating back to last season, while Riverdale won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Pleasant Hill, they will host Oakland at 6:00 p.m. on January 10th.
