Preview: Fort Washakie Eagles vs. Hot Springs County Bobcats
The Fort Washakie Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Hot Springs County Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Fort Washakie and six for Hot Springs County.
Two weeks ago, Fort Washakie came up short against Meeteetse and fell 42-34.
Meanwhile, Hot Springs County was the victim of a tough 47-27 defeat at the hands of Mountain View on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Hot Springs County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wyoming basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Mountain View is ranked ninth).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Dazlynn Hunt, who scored four points along with four steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Slagle, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Fort Washakie dropped their record down to 0-4 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.0 points per game. As for Hot Springs County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
