Basketball Recap: Big Sandy Comes Up Short

After soaring to 56 points the game before, Big Sandy was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were outmatched by the Lovelady Lions and fell 65-29. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Big Sandy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Key'Marrion Williams posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Jones, who had five points and ten boards.

Big Sandy is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9. As for Lovelady, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Big Sandy and Cumberland Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 63.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Lovelady, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 44-40 victory against Sabine on the 13th.
