Panguitch gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took down the El Capitan Eagles 72-54. The Bobcats are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 15 straight dating back to last season.
Panguitch got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taycen Ramsay out in front who shot 60% from the field en route to 12 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Ramsay a new career-high in assists (two). Another player making a difference was Camden Englestead, who posted 12 points and five boards.
Panguitch was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as El Capitan only posted six.
El Capitan's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Hammon, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Barlow, who had 14 points and eight boards.
El Capitan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Panguitch didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-53 loss against Enterprise on the 25th. As for El Capitan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 48-45 defeat against Valley on the 26th.
