Volleyball Recap: Westerville South Gets the Win

The Westerville South Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Licking Heights Hornets on Wednesday.

Westerville South wouldn't go down easily and took Licking Heights into a fifth set where they got it done with a eight-point win. The final score came out to 26-24, 23-25, 18-25, 26-24, 15-7.

Leo Harden paced Westerville South's offense, picking up 21 kills. Harden got some help from David Mowery and his 48 assists. Mowery was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Westerville South pushed their record up to 10-9 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Licking Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Looking ahead, Westerville South will face off against Hilliard Bradley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Licking Heights, they will challenge Worthington Kilbourne at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
