Softball Recap: Manatee's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Riverview Sarasota, Manatee was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Braden River Pirates as they made off with a 20-3 win. With that victory, the Hurricanes brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.

Manatee got a massive performance out of Hope Jordan, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave Jordan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maleah Lowe, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Manatee hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Manatee's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-9. As for Braden River, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Manatee will venture away from home to challenge Sarasota at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Sailors' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Hurricanes' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Braden River, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against DeSoto County at 6:00 p.m. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight.
