Monarch can finally bid farewell to their 14-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They escaped with a win against the Hallandale Chargers by the margin of a single free throw, 40-39. The Knights' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Monarch's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Hallandale, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monarch and Deerfield Beach will compete for holiday cheer on Thursday. As for Hallandale, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Coconut Creek at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Hallandale has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
