 South River was the  7-3 winner over Metuchen when they last played one another  last Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The South River Rams fell victim to a  tough 11-5 loss at the hands of the Metuchen Bulldogs  on Tuesday. South River has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Sebastian Susinno put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  4.1 innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   three  hits. Susinno was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  James Zsorey was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 3-for-4 with a  home run and two  RBI.
 South River now  has a losing record at 1-2. As for Metuchen, their  victory (their first of the  season) made their record 1-3.
 South River will stay at home for another  game and welcome North Plainfield at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Metuchen, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Kennedy Memorial at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Kennedy Memorial and Metuchen are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
