Volleyball Recap: Poudre Comes Up Short on the Road Against Northfield

Poudre had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Northfield Nighthawks on Friday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Poudre was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-23, 25-13.

Maggie Foster paced Poudre's offense, picking up nine kills. Foster got some help from Morgan Huffman and her ten assists. McKenna Mehle controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Poudre will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Boulder at 6:30 p.m. on September 2. As for Northfield, they will welcome Rangeview at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
