Softball Game Preview: Dumont Huskies vs. Paramus Catholic Paladins

The Dumont Huskies will square off against the Paramus Catholic Paladins at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Dumont lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Cliffside Park, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Huskies put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 13-1 victory on Friday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Meanwhile, Paramus Catholic put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 5-2 win over Wallington.

Paramus Catholic's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Dumont, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Dumont couldn't quite finish off Paramus Catholic in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 13-11. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
