Baseball Game Preview: Fair Haven Slaters vs. Bellows Falls Terriers

The Fair Haven Slaters will challenge the Bellows Falls Terriers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Fair Haven has given up an average of 17 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Fair Haven couldn't beat Hartford on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Slaters lost 14-6 to the Hurricanes. The Slaters have struggled against the Hurricanes recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Bellows Falls had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Cosmos with a sharp 14-1 win. Considering the Terriers have won three contests by more than 12 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Bellows Falls got a massive performance out of Eli Allbee, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Allbee is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Quincy Knapp, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and one double.

Fair Haven's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Bellows Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Fair Haven might still be hurting after the 34-13 defeat they got from Bellows Falls in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can the Slaters avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
