Fredericksburg and Canyon Lake are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but likely not for long. The Billies will be playing at home against Canyon Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.

On Friday, Fredericksburg didn't have quite enough to beat Wimberley and fell 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Billies have suffered against the Texans since April 11, 2023.

Holt Herber was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Canyon Lake has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.59 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit last Friday. They lost 16-8 to Navarro. Even though they lost, Canyon Lake's still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.1 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Michael Anderson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Ryan Reyna, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Fredericksburg's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Canyon Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 18-8-1.

Fredericksburg took their win against Canyon Lake when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 9-0 score. Will the Billies repeat their success, or do Canyon Lake have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
