League recap: Burke County climbs in standings with win

AAAA Region 3B recap October 1, 2013

Burke County was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fourth to second in AAAA Region 3B. The Bears vanquished Cross Creek 61-0 earlier in the week.

Glenn Hills moved up to 354 from 403 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Spartans climbed the ranks as a result of beating South Effingham 39-37.

Academy of Richmond County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Musketeers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Tony Daggett has thrown for 313 yards and 2 touchdowns this season, while Britto Tutt has 6 catches for 142 yards.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Hephzibah takes on Butler. The Rebels are in fifth place, while the Bulldogs are in sixth place.

Glenn Hills and the Mustangs played the most contested game in AAAA Region 3B this week, with Glenn Hills eventually emerging with a 39-37 victory.
