Elkton put another one in the bag  on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within five  points of losing the streak, but they secured  a   19-14 W against the Perryville Panthers. The  victory almost wasn't to be: the Golden Elks were down  14-0 in the second  quarter.
Elkton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Owen McBride, who threw for 177 yards and two  TDs, and also punched in one  touchdown on the ground.  Isaiah Yates was  McBride's top target, picking up 111 receiving yards and a pair of  scores.
 On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Elkton's defense and their three sacks. In that department,  Ira Yates Jr. was the leader with two.
Elkton's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Perryville, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record  this season.
 Elkton will venture away from home to  face off against SEED  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Perryville, they will host Patterson Mill  at 7:00  p.m.  on  the 24th. The Panthers will be up against the Huskies' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.17  points per  matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
