Baseball Recap: Marion Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Little River, Marion was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Moundridge Wildcats by a score of 6-2. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Lander Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Marion is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-5 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jameson Looper, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Carson Krause was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Marion's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Moundridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wildcats beat Marion by a score of 13-12 later that day.
