East Providence faced North Kingstown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Townies came out on top in a nail-biter against the Skippers, sneaking past 2-1. This was payback for the Townies, who suffered a 5-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Tyler Dicecco spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, East Providence secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Colin Roche, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.

East Providence is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for North Kingstown, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-7.

As of now, neither East Providence nor the Skippers have any future games scheduled.
