Stafford is 9-1 against Sweeny since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Stafford Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Sweeny Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. Stafford's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Stafford saw some tournament action on Saturday. They lost 4-1 to El Campo.

Meanwhile, Sweeny was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Calhoun.

Stafford's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3-1. As for Sweeny, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Stafford beat Sweeny by a goal when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stafford since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
