Baseball Recap: Vallejo Sets Scoring Season-High Against Richmond

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vallejo). They put the hurt on the Richmond Oilers with a sharp 15-0 win on Wednesday. The Redhawks have beaten the Oilers the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Oilers has come to flipping the script.

David Bernstine III was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Kamil Cassius was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

Vallejo now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Richmond, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Vallejo beat the Oilers by a score of 16-6 on Friday.
