League recap: McKeel Academy's Pfingston delivers best pitching performance from past week

3A District 7 league recap: 4/3/13

McKeel Academy's Jacob Pfingston was the best pitcher in 3A District 7 this week. He racked up five strike outs this week.

Santa Fe Catholic outpaced the rest of the league this week, as its two total wins led the league. The Hawks beat the Wildcats 4-0 and Tenoroc 10-4.

Fort Meade's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only zero hits and zero walks, both of which led the league.

The league boasted nine .400 hitters over the past week. Leading the pack was Evan Barnes, who hit .667 by going 2-for-3.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Logan Browning, who turned in nine Ks for Lakeland Christian. He's first in the league with 48 total strikeouts.



Winter Haven's Browning struck out nine the Vikings hitters en route to a 6-2 victory on March 26. Over five innings of work, he gave up five hits and six runs.
