MacArthur is 0-10 against Rochester since October of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Generals will host the Rockets at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
On Tuesday, MacArthur came up short against Jacksonville and fell 2-0.
While MacArthur had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-20.
Despite the loss, MacArthur saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Trinitee Sutton had six kills and three digs.
Meanwhile, Rochester also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Glenwood by a score of 2-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Rockets in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost five in a row.
The final score came out to 25-17, 25-8.
MacArthur's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Rochester, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: MacArthur has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 4.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Rochester struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
