Softball Recap: Jordan Triumphs

Jordan won the last time they faced Judge Memorial Catholic and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Beetdiggers came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 5-1.

Kimani Archibeque made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

Archibeque wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Elinor Williams, who went 1-for-3 with two runs. Cambria Culberson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Jordan's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Judge Memorial Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Jordan is set to face off against their familiar foe Juan Diego Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Judge Memorial Catholic will take on rival East at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
