Baseball Game Preview: Spring Creek Gators vs. Princeton Bulldogs

Spring Creek is 2-8 against Princeton since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Gators will welcome the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Spring Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Spring Creek hadn't beaten Eastern Wayne on the road since April 13, 2017 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Gators blew past the Warriors 15-4. The Gators not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 11th.

Braden Bell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Spring Creek: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 1-5 otherwise. Bell was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Hines, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Spring Creek is undefeated when Hines posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Camden Jones, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Princeton unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of Midway by a score of 6-5.

Andrew Allnutt was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 4-for-5. Macon Boone was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Princeton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Spring Creek, their victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6.
