Basketball Recap: Will Dixon Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Southern

East Palestine hadn't done well against Southern recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The East Palestine Bulldogs enjoyed a cozy 67-50 victory over the Southern Indians. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Indians two weeks ago, they had to take a 58-46 defeat.

East Palestine's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Will Dixon, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 12 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. That's the most rebounds Dixon has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyler Bourne, who went 8-for-13 on his way to 16 points and six boards.

The win got East Palestine back to even at 10-10. As for Southern, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-12.

Looking ahead, East Palestine will take on Western Reserve at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Southern, they will host Buckeye Local at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
