Hardin Valley Academy is a perfect 10-0 against Lenoir City since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Hardin Valley Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Hardin Valley Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Bearden on Thursday as they made off with a 16-5 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Elsie Hatcher made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alex Souders, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two stolen bases. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in runs (three). Emma Kate Schneider was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Hardin Valley Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Lenoir City hadn't done well against South-Doyle recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Panthers came out on top against the Cherokees by a score of 4-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).
Rylee Moore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Sophie Reed was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Kymbal Williams, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
Hardin Valley Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-16. As for Lenoir City, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Hardin Valley Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Lenoir City in their previous matchup on Wednesday, sneaking past 4-3. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
