Soccer Game Preview: Lopez vs. Pace

The Lopez Lobos will head out to challenge the Pace Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Lopez came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to Rivera. That makes it the first time this season Lopez have let down their home crowd.

Meanwhile, Pace came up short against Edcouch-Elsa on Tuesday, falling 7-3.

Lopez's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 1-1-1 and their overall record down to 4-3-1. As for Pace, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Lopez beat Pace 4-2 in their previous matchup back in January of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lobos since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
