Volleyball Recap: Edwardsville Beats Maryville Christian for Their Third Straight Victory

It was a proper cat-fight when Edwardsville took on Maryville Christian on Thursday. The Tigers walked away with a 2-0 win over the Lions. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Edwardsville easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-18.

Jacob Williams paced Edwardsville's offense, picking up seven kills. Williams got some help from Jude Lawrence and his nine assists.

Edwardsville's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. As for Maryville Christian, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Edwardsville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against DePaul College Prep on the 25th. As for Maryville Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Metro-East Lutheran on the 29th.
