Volleyball Recap: Pioneer Takes a Loss

After flying high against South Central on Monday, Pioneer came back down to earth. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the Benton Central Bison on Tuesday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Bison recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-11, 25-13.

Aspen Moolenaar paced Pioneer's offense, picking up seven kills. Moolenaar got some help from Lois Layer and her nine assists.

Madison Minniear had a dynamite game For Benton Central., getting five aces and three digs. That's the most aces Minniear has posted over her last 15 matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Widmer, who had ten digs and two assists.

Pioneer's defeat dropped their record down to 17-13. As for Benton Central, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-5.

Looking ahead, Pioneer will be playing at home against West Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Benton Central, they will head out on the road to take on Faith Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
