Baseball Game Preview: Crestview Rebels vs. Newton Falls Tigers

For the second straight game, Crestview will face off against Newton Falls. The Rebels will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Crestview came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-1 to Newton Falls.

For Newton Falls' part, Cameron Huff was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Huff also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Newton Falls is 5-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Huff was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Ethan Powell was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Newton Falls is undefeated when Powell posts two or more runs, but 7-8 otherwise. Leland Vargo was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

The victory snapped Newton Falls' losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-8 record. As for Crestview, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
