Baseball Recap: Denver South Wins Going Away Against Alameda

Denver South got themselves on the board against Alameda on Thursday, but Alameda never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Pirates. The Ravens have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pirates, too.

Johnny Komarowsky made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dylan Coppock, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Coppock is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Leu, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Denver South now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Alameda, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Denver South wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 4-1 win against Highlands Ranch on the 14th. As for Alameda, they have also already played their next game, a 16-2 victory against Manual on the 15th.
