Basketball Recap: Summit Sierra Takes a Loss

Summit Sierra was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the South Whidbey Falcons, falling 74-36. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-12.

South Whidbey got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Weston Dill out in front who went 5 for 9 on his way to 10 points and five rebounds. Cody Redford was another key player, going 5 of 6 en route to 11 points and five boards.

Summit Sierra's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for South Whidbey, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-5.

Summit Sierra will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Summit Atlas at 5:15 p.m. on January 30th. As for South Whidbey, they will square off against University Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Whidbey is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season.
