Baseball Recap: Sullivan County Comes Up Short

Sullivan County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Montgomery Red Raiders, falling 20-5. That's two games in a row now that the Griffins have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Cole Barto was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-3.

Sullivan County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Montgomery, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sullivan County will host Canton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Griffins are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Montgomery, they will welcome Montoursville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Red Raiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
